This event is hosted in collaboration with a variety of groups. Therefore those in attendance will be from varying backgrounds and beliefs. This is in order to provide an opportunity to hear a wide range of perspectives.

For documentary night we will be watching 13th. This documentary by Ava Duvernay explores the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States. It is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, adopted in 1865, which abolished slavery throughout the United States and ended involuntary servitude except as a punishment for conviction of a crime.   After the film we will break out into multiple rounds of small group discussion, then close out the night with a whole group discussion.

This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way.  For more info email Adam Hicks (adam.hicks@emory.edu)
