Accessible and affordable transportation is critical to the lives of all people, regardless of age, race, income, disability or other factors. In honor of Transit Equity Day, nationally celebrated in conjunction with Rosa Park’s birthday, the MARTA Army and mobility organizations across metro Atlanta are teaming up to promote public transit as a civil right and a strategy to combat climate change.
Join MARTA Army and our partners at Atlanta Bike Coalition, Georgia STAND-UP, PEDS, iAccess Life, Sierra Club, Partnership for Southern Equity, and Transformation Alliance to launch Operation Bus Stop Census, a crowdsourcing effort to catalog transit bus stops to better inform advocacy efforts and to raise the standards of bus access in the region.
How to stand up for transit:
– Attend the Transit Equity Day Press Conference at Five Points Station Plaza on February 4, 2020 at 10 AM
– Join Operation Bus Stop Census by crowd sourcing MARTA’s bus stop data so we can improve the bus experience for everyone. Stay tuned for marching orders on Transit Equity Day!
