Workers World Party in cooperation with the Auburn Ave Research Library on African American Culture and History hosts a program, “Taking a Stand against Imperialism; Uniting in Solidarity” on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 1-3pm.

From Nov. 1-3, 2019, over 1330 representatives from 86 countries gathered in Cuba to express a firm opposition to imperialism and neo-liberalism and a deep-felt solidarity with people’s liberation movements around the globe.
LeiLani Dowell was one of the members of the International Action Center delegation. LeiLani is a longtime activist and a contributing editor of Workers World newspaper. She has participated in fact-finding delegations around the world and ran for U.S. Congress in 2004 on an anti-war platform. LeiLani holds a Ph.D. in English.

In her report back from the historic meeting, she will describe the intensity of the conference participants’ attitude of resistance, the seriousness of the political analysis of the challenges facing revolutionary struggles and the optimism of the conference attendees that a new world is in birth.
