No Child Detention Center in Atlanta! Honking Protest in Midtown

Have you heard the news? Atlanta is being considered as a possible location for housing migrant children in a long-term detention center.

Join us in sending a clear and loud message to the Trump administration and Atlanta leaders that we will NEVER tolerate our beloved city as place that separates immigrant children from their families.

Invite your friends! Encourage cars passing by to honk in support of this protest! Spread the word about the proposal to put innocent kids in a detention center right here in ATL!

PROTEST SIGNS
We will have some signs designed specifically for this rally, but will also need attendees to bring homemade signs. Please limit your messaging only to family separation and the crisis on the border and really zero-in on the planned Child Detention Center in ATL.

We also prefer that you refrain from using strong profanity. (“P*ssed Off Mom/s” is fine and will probably be one of our hashtags. “Impeach the mother****er” is not appropriate and is the opposite of helpful if closing the camps is really your agenda. “Impeach Trump” is fine.

Meet us at the intersection of W. Peachtree and North Avenue in Midtown (directly in front of North Avenue MARTA station).

We strongly encourage you to take MARTA. There is paid parking at normal downtown rates. We are not aware of any way to validate parking at this location.
