On September 4, working people from Atlanta, Georgia will be rallying at the offices of Sen. Loeffler and Sen. Perdue to demand the U.S. Senate pass the HEROES Act, a comprehensive coronavirus relief package that would confront the three crises facing America: a public health pandemic, an economic free fall and long-standing structural racism.
Members and leaders from the Atlanta-North Georgia Labor Council and several allied unions will be calling Sen. Loeffler and Sen. Perdue to face the indisputable truth: in the 100+ days since the HEROES Act passed the U.S. House, thousands of Georgia residents have died from COVID-19, and Georgia’s working people are still waiting on much-needed economic relief.
In order to emphasize the gravity of the situation, members from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees will bring coffins to display outside of the Senator’s offices.
