Juneteenth Atlanta is offering a 400 year acknowledgement and commemoration of our history through a three day black history music festival, a black history parade, a fireworks weekend, family reunion’s, a children’s pavilion, vendors, cultural cuisines, an artist market and much more. The event date is June 14-16, 2019, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Home Depot Backyard, Next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The address is 1 Backyard Way, Atlanta, GA 30313. Juneteenth Atlanta Black History Parade is an extension of the Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival.

The parade starts on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at 10:00AM and travels east on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive From Mozley Park -1565 Martin Luther King Jr Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30314 to The Home Depot Backyard next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium where it joins with the continuation of the Juneteenth Atlanta Music Festival that will already be in process!

Watch and then follow this fabulous parade of Black History Floats, Marching Bands, Youth Groups, Majorettes, Car Clubs, Bike Clubs, Dance Teams, Second Line-Atlanta Style, Community Organizations, Black Owned Businesses acknowledging 400 Years of Achievements.

We are witnessing a quadricentennial! 1619-2019 “Acknowledging 400 Years of Survival”

1619 is the documented year that the enslavement of African people began in America. The documented date that the last enslaved African people received the news that slavery was over was on June 19, 1865.

1619. 2019 marks surviving 400 Years of the worst conditions ever inflicted upon a people in history. In spite of that, we are here and we rise!

We invite you to get involved, participate and bring your friends and follow the parade to the Juneteenth Atlanta Festival. Ride Marta or Ride Share and get dropped off so you can follow the parade to the Festival.
