Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia, March of Dimes Georgia, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Bellies to Babies Foundation invite you to the Black Infant Health Summit on November 16, 2019. This free, family-friendly event will educate and train the community on addressing infant health, with a specific focus on reducing prematurity/low birth weight and infant mortality.

There is an increasing need to ensure the health of mothers and infants in the State of Georgia. Georgia currently ranks 43rd for prematurity and 44th for infant mortality. Specifically, the infant mortality rate for Black infants is 11.7, versus 4.9 for white infants, and the preterm birth rate is 14.2 for Black infants, versus 10 for white infants. Black infants have a low birth rate of 14.3, versus 7.4 for white infants.

Learn how you can prevent infant mortality in your community! Free food and giveaways will be available.

Vendors will be present to give out more information on available community resources to help prevent prematurity, low birth weight, and infant mortality.
