On Monday, the AMPLIFY GA campaign announced the proposal of Atlanta’s FIRST EVER Reproductive Justice Commission (RJC) sponsored via resolution by City Councilmember Amir Farokhi (District 2).
To fulfill the vision and make change in reproductive healthcare, the Reproductive Justice Commission MUST have actual abortion providers and reproductive justice advocates on it to ACHIEVE its mission; however, this is NOT mandated in the current resolution.
That’s why we need ALL HANDS ON DECK to turn out to the upcoming committee meeting and reach out to your city council members to demand fair representation on the RJC!
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1) Attend the Community Development/Human Services committee meeting on Tuesday, October 29th from 12pm – 2pm at Atlanta City Hall, Committee Room 1 and demand a RJC that is TRANSPARENT, ACCOUNTABLE and REFLECTIVE of community.
2) Call or email your City Councilmember and express your support for the RJC.
3) Join the conversation via social media by following and sharing our messages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Need assistance to attend the meeting, travel or otherwise? Email Jaira at email@example.com and we’ll figure something out!
