We have a great lineup for WRFG 89.3 FM’s 33rd Annual Labor Day Blues Barbecue at the Park Tavern in Piedmont Park on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Our headliner is John Nemeth. John is one of the country’s best blues singers and a 19-time Blues Music Awards nominee.
We’re dedicating this year’s Blues Barbecue to Blind Willie’s Blues Club and its house band The Shadows – Both celebrating their 32nd year.
Check out the rest of our lineup:
Jontavious Willis – He’s 21-years-old and considered a traditional blues prodigy.
Dr. Dixon Bh.D “The Blues Physician” – The good doctor is Atlanta’s reigning harmonica master.
Mudbone Turner’s Blues Band with a special appearance by Mudbone’s wife, the versatile vocalist L’Tanya “Sugarlips” Shields (Sugarlips Sings).
The doors open at noon. The music starts at 1:00 p.m. and won’t wrap up to 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $15.00 (plus a small service fee) in advance via wrfg.org or $20.00 at the door. Kids under 12 get in free.
And, yes, there will be barbecue for sale all day long!
The Park Tavern address is 500 10th St NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30309. That’s the corner of 10th Street and Monroe adjacent to Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta.
Proceeds benefit Atlanta’s #WRFG 89.3 FM, your independent #CommunityRadio station for progressive information and handpicked quality music since 1973.
