The Art of Protest: A Workshop
Are you frustrated with the current state of affairs in Georgia? Do you have emotions and feelings bottled up that you need to be released without violence? Learn how to express yourself through the Art of Protest.
Emily M. Getsay, President of the Women’s Caucus for Art of Georgia, and March On Georgia have partnered to bring you a workshop that delves into the creation of art that revolves around the resistance movement.
The workshop will include a break down of what Protest Art means and how to conceptualize it. From cardboard to Gallery, we will talk about the process of finding the purpose of your work to conceptualizing it.
Then we will get hands-on, brainstorming and creating a piece that fits your advocacy. We will be making SIGNS for the March On To 2020 on the Beltline and the MLK celebration parade. All pieces created during the workshop will be eligible to be a part of the Art of Protest Exhibition following the March to 2020 Rally on January 19th.
