STOP THE DEPORTATIONS: In just four days, the Israeli government will begin the first set of scheduled forced deportations of African asylum seekers who could face torture, enslavement and death.
On Friday and Saturday, February 16th and 17th, protests will be held around the world in solidarity with the refugees at Israeli consulates and embassies. Tell Israel: abide by international law, stop deportations, grant asylum, and end the racist incitement against refugees.
The Jewish principle of Pikuach Nefesh (literally, “saving a life”) holds that the preservation of human life overrides all other religious considerations and requires that a person do everything in their power to save a person’s life. These refugees’ lives are at stake. So we are standing our ground protesting the deportations, even— perhaps especially— on Shabbat, because it is required of all of us, regardless of background.
FREE THE TAMIMIS: Sunday, February 18th is also The Global Day of Action to Free the Tamimis. Free the Tamimis Campaign calls on allies, comrades and supporters around the world to protest the ongoing incarceration and systematic targeting of members of the Tamimi family and the village of Nabi Saleh.
JOIN US as we come together in community to protest for protecting the lives of African refugees and Palestinians and DEMAND that Israel immediately:
1) cease the deportation of African refugees,
2) meet its obligations under international law and grant them refugee status, and
3) stop the official campaign of discrimination and hate against them.
4) release Ahed, Nariman, Mohammad and Osama, as well as all Palestinian prisoners
