The statistics surrounding GSD suicide and self-harm are both scary and shocking. This workshop describes the impact of marginalization on members of the GLBTQ community. Our goal is to make clear the urgency of saving lives through understanding and stopping micro-aggressions towards GLBTQ clients. It is often surprising even to GLB- inclusive clinicians how severe seemingly small actions can be on an individual’s mental health. We focus on understanding statistics, unpacking sources of hidden biases, affirming language and self-definitions, and on understanding and defining what caring inclusion looks like in daily practice.
This workshop provides 5 CEUs.
