People’s Hearing: Whole Women’s Health Act

Georgia’s General Assembly has refused to hold a hearing on the Whole Women’s Health Act – We’ve tried for the last two years, so now we’re holding our own and you’re invited!

Join us for a People’s Hearing on the Whole Women’s Health Act. Two years ago, the Supreme Court ruled in the case Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt that any legal barriers to abortion must be backed up by facts and data. The burden is on government officials to justify these restrictions, ending the days when states could put up barrier after barrier to abortion access with nothing to prove that they did anything other than make abortion harder to access.

The Whole Women’s Health Act would bring this standard into Georgia law. Join us for a fun event filled with exciting speakers from ACLU of Georgia, SPARK Reproductive Justice Now, and the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. Other speakers also include researchers, clinic workers, clinic volunteers, and people who have had abortions.

We will also be highlighting a similar bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act. This is a federal bill that would stop all states – including Georgia – from putting up baseless barriers to abortion access.

We are honored to have these partners stand up with us and declare their support of the Whole Women’s Health Act, and we hope you will join us!
