Do you know what to expect from your City Councilperson? Over what does the mayor have control? Who oversees Atlanta Public Schools? Who appoints the director of the Atlanta Housing Authority? How can you, as an Atlanta citizen, hold your local government accountable?

Get answers to these and other questions at Civics 101: How Atlanta City Government Works, conducted by the Center for Civic Innovation. http://www.civicatlanta.org

We might all need to know a little more about how to get involved in the local government that works for us.

This year’s elections will turn over our city government over to many new hands. Understand the implications of this election, and how you can be a more knowledgeable and influential citizen/constituent.
