On Tuesday day February 12th 2019 at 12:30 pm at city of Atlanta’s Human Services Committee and the Public Safety committee meetings we plan to hold accountable the parties responsible for:
The unconstitutional raids on homeless camps during the then upcoming super bowl week.
The number of homeless arrest before and during super bowl week
Address why the city does not have enough personnel to staff all three large warming centers (Central Park, Adamsville, and Grant Park). I ended up doing a Facebook event page to recruit enough volunteers to staff Central Park.
Get answers as to why the Adamsville warming center is opened first, when it’s the furthest away from the city’s main homeless population .
Address why the city never followed up a year ago with several churches (Antioch North, Cascade United Methodist, and St. Bartholomew’s that were willing to open their doors as warming and cooling centers.
Why know one sleeping behind Central Presbyterian was ever housed after the CoC and Partner’s for Home had a whole year to find housing for the people sleeping behind Central Presbyterian before a fence was to go up and the homeless would no longer have access to the back of the church to sleep. Why no one ever responded in person or by phone to numerous request from myself, pastor Anthony Demilio, and Mary Sidney Kelly Harbert.
I have several other bombshells that I am not posting here but I plan to bring them to light tomorrow, most are more serious than the statement of facts that I have already mentioned. The police arrest reports that I received from the Southern Center For Human Rights are going to bear out the many arrest of Atlanta’s homeless, the large numbers of stories from people arrested or run off by APD before and during super bowl week
All of things that I plan to bring up tomorrow several points to why the city’s homeless do not trust city officials to do right by them.
Also plan to introduce solutions to the ongoing problems
