Join the Latino Community Fund of Georgia, Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, Los Vecinos de Buford Highway, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, and community members for a conversation on Afro-Latinidad and a discussion on a part of our Latino culture that is often overlooked in mainstream media. Every country in Latin America has a black or Afro-Latino population, yet how each country engages with this population varies. Come join us to learn more about the history of Afro-Latinos in Latin America, how race dynamics play out currently in different countries, and what anyone can do to uplift the Afro-Latino experience and be more conscious of what it means to be Latino. Dinner will be provided by Cafe Dominican on a first come, first serve basis.
