The 1,000 Men March is being called for all men of good conscience to march in 10 of the worst areas of Atlanta, in terms of crime and violence, as a demonstration of love, solidarity, and peace. Unite or Die Campaign President, Zacharias H. Muhammad, called the march after God laid it on his heart, due to the serious, critical nature of the times, and because the men in our communities throughout the City of Atlanta and its metropolitan areas are not as present as they should be.
The march is being planned for Saturday, January 20, 2018 –– during the weekend following Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, to show honor to him, and all of our great leaders who have suffered for the rise and redemption of the oppressed.
We plan to begin at Morehouse College, a historical center of manhood in Atlanta, to gather and hold a rally with guest speakers. Afterward, buses will depart for a day of action across 5 counties within the Metro Atlanta area.
Participants of more than a 1,000 men will canvass select blighted and underserved communities to meet, greet, and engage residents. Participants will then return via bus to Morehouse College for a meal and to close out the day.
